APPLYING ESTROGEN LIPODERM
or HRT
§
Spread
estrogen preferably on the following locations with thin skin: the outer and inner sides of both your arms
and shoulders, inner sides of both your thighs, your abdomen (if slender), or your
face (may reduce facial hair and wrinkles).
§
Always
use the same skin surfaces so the absorption
is stable and constant.
§
Spread
a thin layer over a large area since only the gel closest to your skin is
absorbed.
§
Application
to a large surface area enables a
longer duration of action since the gel accumulates in the subcutaneous fat and
creates a reservoir of estrogen that slowly and progressively gets released
into the bloodstream. In contrast, when
the gel is applied to a smaller area, the surplus of estrogen will saturate the
fat reservoir and release the surplus immediately into the blood stream, which
will then be metabolized and disappear.
Half of an arm is not sufficient.
Apply over both the inside and outside of both arms or both legs for
example.
§
Rub
the estrogen cream ten times back
and forward to improve deep penetration and absorption.
§
Avoid
using creams or lotions over the area where you applied the estrogen.
§
Avoid
using oils in your bath water since they block or compete with the estrogen for
absorption.
§
If
you are not having relief of symptoms or not achieving maximal benefits
throughout the day, split the dosage and apply it twice a day (over the same
areas).
OTHER WAYS TO INCREASE
ESTROGEN
§
To
maintain your level of estrogen, reduce
your intake of cereal fiber (whole grain bread, bran flakes, etc.) since
they bind estrogens in your intestines and prevent re-absorption back into your
body. As a result, less estrogen is
available for the tissues you are trying to replenish. One could also consider reducing foods rich
in D-glucarate (apples, grapefruit, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage,
lettuce, and alfalfa) but since it has such a powerful benefit for
detoxification and cancer, keep these foods.
§
Follow
a Paleolithic food plan, which is similar to the Page Food Plan which
emphasizes protein and vegetables. Foods
rich in protein and fat increase the production and effects of estrogen and
progesterone.
§
Avoid
caffeine
§
Avoid
processed carbohydrates (sugar, sweets, sodas, high fructose corn syrup,
cookies, breads, pasta, cereals, etc.), aspartame, and fruit juices since they
stimulate the release of insulin which disrupts sex hormone balance.
§
Avoid
milk products since they contain hormone products that further disrupt sex
hormone balance.
§
Avoid
foods that are likely to have pesticides, herbicides, etc. in them since these
bind to estrogen receptors and thus interfere with production and the
physiologic response to bio-identical hormones.
§
Excessive
stress, both emotionally and physically, is initially associated with over-production
of sex hormones and later alters the pituitary signals to the ovaries and
adrenals to produce more sex hormones.
